The Behavior Analyst Apprentice is a supervised training position designed for individuals actively pursuing certification as a Board Certified behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role provides hands‑on experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) across multiple settings, including clinics, schools, homes, and community environments. The apprentice will complete 30 billable hours per week as a Lead Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) providing direct ABA therapy, while dedicating 10 hours per week to administrative duties such as training, program development, data analysis, and supervision‑related activities under the mentorship of a BCBA.
Key Responsibilities Direct ABA Therapy (30 Billable Hours per Week)- Implement individualized ABA therapy programs for clients in clinic, school, home, and community settings.
- Follow treatment plans, skill acquisition programs, and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as developed by the supervising BCBA.
- Utilize ABA methodologies such as discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and verbal behavior (VB) strategies.
- Collect and record data on client progress during each session.
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviors using proactive and reactive intervention strategies.
- Maintain professionalism while working with families, teachers, and other professionals in various environments.
- Assist with treatment plan development, program modifications, and progress reports under BCBA supervision.
- Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and client progress discussions.
- Analyze and graph behavioral data to assist in treatment planning.
- Complete required BCBA supervision hours in accordance with BACB guidelines.
- Conduct parent and caregiver training under the supervision of a BCBA.
- Assist in RBT training, program development, and clinical documentation.
- Stay up to date on best ABA practices, ethics, and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Actively pursuing BCBA certification and meeting BACB fieldwork requirements.
- Enrollment in or completion of a verified course sequence (VCS) for BCBA certification.
- Current RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification required.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities.
- A strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior reduction strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in data collection and behavior tracking systems.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Work Environment &
Physical Requirements- Ability to work in a variety of settings, including clinic, school, home, and community environments.
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and engage in physical activities such as standing, kneeling, and running as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation for travel between service locations.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
