Position: Community Overdose Prevention and Treatment Manager (Health Manager 2) Onsite and in the Community

Job Overview

The Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) is seeking a Health Manager to provide leadership and management to our Community Overdose Prevention and Treatment Program.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and monitors program budgets, grant administration, policies/procedures and resources needed for the program to meet deadlines, grant requirements and milestones.
  • Plans for and provides guidance for staff development, training, and continuing education.
  • Provides oversight to vendor partner contracts in the implementation of the Opioid Care Process Pilot Program.
  • Supervise a team of staff members
  • Creating and managing work groups, generating community-wide acceptance of the programs, mobilizing shared leadership, and tracking and reporting key metrics to stakeholders and funders.
  • Obtains support to advance prevention education and treatment program including developing/sustaining community relationships, fostering support through technical assistance for best practice prevention and treatment models.
  • Builds and maintains community partnerships to effectively address public health issues..
  • Monitor and evaluate the efficacy of programs related to promotion of mental Health and Wellness.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate the impact of prevention and on community health and well-being.
  • Provides support to other MPHD initiatives and projects that advance the strategic priorities of the Department, including facilitation needs.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively responsible full-time paid employment in related field required. Two (2) years must have been in a public administration/supervisory capacity.
  • Completed graduate degree in a directly related field may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.
  • Demonstrated success as a manager, administrator, and team builder.
  • Masters or doctoral degree in public health, public administration, business or other appropriate health or social services-related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of the principles and best practices of project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience and proficiency in managing grants and contracts.
