Job Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Location: Nashville, TN/Hybrid

Duration: 12+ Months

Work Schedule: 8am to 4.30pm

The Tennessee Department of Health’s Division of Family Health and Wellness (FHW) is hiring a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with expertise in maternal mental health and substance use disorders for the Injury Prevention and Detection section. The qualified candidate will serve as the lead psychiatric social worker for the Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Program, playing a pivotal role in training key TDH staff who provide services to pregnant and post partum women throughout Tennessee at the regional and local level.

This position will report directly to the FHW Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Program Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide recurring virtual and in-person training opportunities to TDH Care Coordination staff, including the FHW call center staff, CHANT care coordinators, and women’s health navigators, on maternal mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Provide centralized support and technical assistance to TDH Care Coordination staff.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and navigation of community-based resources.
  • Coordinate with Find Help Now TN on necessary updates to the provider database.
  • Promote MMHSUD resources available through TDH and community partners at local, regional and statewide meetings.
Minimum Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work
  • Experience equivalent to 1 year or more of full-time professional psychiatric social work responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects, preferably in public health settings
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Understanding of maternal mental health and substance use disorder as it relates to maternal mortality and morbidity, relevant laws, prevention strategies, and best practices are a plus.
  • Ability to work remotely and in the Nashville, TN office at least 1-2 times per month.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to conduct in-person trainings/attend meetings across the state, and within the US for conferences a few times per year.
