Division Director of Laboratory Services
Nashville, TN | Full‑Time | Days (No Weekends)
Salary up to $160,000 + $20,000 Sign‑On Bonus + Up to 17.5% Incentive Bonus
Position OverviewThe Division Director of Laboratory Services provides strategic oversight, operational leadership, and consultative support across multiple hospital laboratories. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective, compliant laboratory operations while driving financial performance and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead multi‑site laboratory operations across the assigned division
- Conduct operational assessments, utilization analysis, and financial reviews
- Implement laboratory test formularies, equipment platforms, and standardization strategies
- Optimize market‑based contracting and reference testing utilization
- Oversee billing compliance, charge capture, and profitability analysis
- Ensure regulatory readiness and accreditation compliance
- Manage budgets, analyze variances, and implement corrective action plans
- Collaborate with executive leadership, pathology, supply chain, IT, and hospital administration
- Develop and mentor high‑performing laboratory leadership teams
- Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes impacting laboratory services
- Present strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science
- Background as a Medical Technologist (Required)
- Minimum 5+ years of recent laboratory leadership experience at Director/Manager level or laboratory consulting
- Multi‑site laboratory leadership experience (Regional or National level required)
- Strong knowledge of hospital/laboratory operations, healthcare finance, and reimbursement
- No gaps in employment
- Professional organization association required
- COVID‑19 vaccination (or approved exemption)
- Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Tennessee‑based candidates preferred (relocation considered for strong applicants)
- Salary up to $160,000
- $20,000 Sign‑On Bonus
