Data Engineer, Data Security
The Director of Data Management owns the full enterprise data lifecycle, building a cloud-enabled, well-governed foundation that delivers accurate, secure, and accessible data across the organization. Success in this role is measured by improved data quality, reporting reliability, operational transparency, platform scalability, and the ability to efficiently onboard new clients and acquisitions.
Job Responsibilities Enterprise Data Strategy & Platform EnablementDefine and execute an enterprise data strategy aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and value-creation goals. Lead the transition to scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud data platforms. Expand business self-service by driving adoption of low-code and no-code data and analytics tools. Establish enterprise standards for data platforms, tooling, and integration patterns.
Own enterprise data architecture across sales, client services, claims, finance, and operations. Maintain end-to-end accountability for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and sharing. Lead and govern EDI processing, including 837 and 835 transaction flows. Ensure reliable, scalable integration across core platforms, client data feeds, and acquired systems.
Establish and enforce enterprise data quality and validation standards for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Implement monitoring, alerting, reconciliation, and exception management across batch, API, and EDI pipelines. Define clear ownership for data quality issues in partnership with operations and compliance teams. Improve transparency and control frameworks to reduce operational and regulatory risk.
Analytics & Business EnablementDeliver trusted, well-governed datasets that enable enterprise analytics, reporting, and decision-making. Ensure role-based access controls while maintaining HIPAA and client-specific security requirements. Partner with business leaders to support claims performance, productivity, client SLAs, and financial analytics.
Data Engineering Leadership & Operating ModelBuild and lead a high-performing data engineering and data management organization through hiring, coaching, and performance management. Own resource allocation, capacity planning, and prioritization across competing stakeholder demands. Establish clear career paths and skills development frameworks for data engineering and data management roles. Manage vendors and strategic partners to drive efficiency, scalability, and return on investment.
Lead data integration efforts for acquired TPAs and books of business, including data mapping, cleansing, normalization, and validation. Reduce complexity by rationalizing redundant data platforms, feeds, and reporting tools. Develop repeatable data integration and onboarding playbooks to support future acquisitions.
Qualifications & Professional Requirements- 8–12+ years of experience in data management, data engineering, or analytics platform environments, with 3–5+ years in a leadership role
- Experience operating in TPA, healthcare services, payer, PBM
, or similarly regulated, transaction-heavy environments - Hands-on experience with:
- Cloud-based data architectures
- ETL / ELT pipelines and data integration frameworks
- EDI processing, including 837 and 835 transactions
