Job SummaryHCA Healthcare is looking for an experienced and innovative Data Modeler to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data products on Google Cloud. You will be at the forefront of transforming raw data into actionable insights by creating robust architectures that integrate into our enterprise ecosystem. You will bridge business needs and technical solutions, working with Data Product Owners to ensure alignment with business goals and operational and analytical requirements.
The Data Modeler will design data architectures that address gaps, optimize performance, and enforce enterprise standards in cybersecurity, governance, and compliance. You will develop a data architecture roadmap aligned with business priorities and evolving technology trends, and help maximize data value to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency through analytics and machine learning capabilities.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced data analysis to inform design decisions and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Create logical data models or object models of moderate complexity to address business challenges.
- Identify redundant data objects and reusable data items across systems and applications.
- Define data transformation requirements and implement efficient solutions.
- Implement enterprise data management practices, standards, and frameworks for data integration; ensure data governance and security best practices are followed.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on SQL queries and ETL pipelines.
- Build automated validation processes for data integrity checks.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
- Master s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in data management, data products, or analytics required.
- Proficiency in SQL and database design; ability to write, tune, and interpret SQL queries; experience with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query) is a plus.
- Experience with Git and Git Hub version control.
- Experience in architecture, construction, and implementation of data-intensive solutions.
- Strong understanding of metadata management and data cataloging.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage multiple assignments; ability to troubleshoot and optimize ETL pipelines.
- Familiarity with Python, GCP Dataflow, and Cloud Composer is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of IT governance and operations; commitment to mission and values, integrity, inclusion, and mutual respect; ability to make timely, informed decisions in the best interest of patients, employees, providers, community, and HCA.
- Nashville, TN (near Centennial Park)
- Onsite M-F for the first 6 months, then hybrid with 2 days onsite per week.
The job may require travel from time to time, but not on a regular basis.
