Network Technician

Overview

Position Summary:

The Network Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and monitoring the IT networks of the College.

• In collaboration with the Network Administrator, determines network needs.
• Troubleshoots LAN infrastructure.
• Maintains and repairs hardware, including peripheral devices.
• Performs maintenance and upgrades without interrupting business workflow.
• Works with vendors to procure network equipment and systems.
• Monitors network performance and offers solutions to improve the network.

• High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
• CIT or related network certification.
• Minimum One (1) Year Of Networking Experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Layer 1 to Layer 3 infrastructure.

• Associate’s degree or CCNA/networking certification equivalent.
• Working knowledge of VOIP network phone administration.
• Knowledge of Aruba network technology.

Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of population of faculty, staff and students. Ability to practice effective communication techniques, both orally and in writing, including ability to coordinate a variety of resources in gathering information and independently answering inquiries. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with mastery of Word and Excel. A better-than-average understanding and appreciation for computer systems and technology.

Rate of Pay: $50,310.00 - $60,372.00 depending on experience
