Director, Data Management and Architecture – you will be responsible for leading and developing data management, architecture, and operational plans to support the organization’s digital initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to continue to establish a centralized data management program in the Information Systems and Technology organization to enable data‑driven decision‑making throughout the organization.
Responsibilities Data Architecture and Data Management- Develop and maintain the data architecture strategy to support digital transformation.
- Work with business and IT partners in the design of the data warehouse to ensure interoperability and data normalization with applications and BI tools.
- Design data models, schemas, and data flows to ensure effective data integration, storage, and retrieval.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for data solutions, including data models, architectures, workflows, and integration points.
- Design, implement data marts that provide business teams with ad‑hoc access to large datasets.
- Provide best practices and governance for the use of Snowflake as an enterprise platform.
- Establish and enforce data management standards, best practices, and governance policies.
- Monitor data usage, quality, and performance, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Work with IT and security teams to ensure data security protocols are in place and adhered to.
- Set up a BI framework to manage the data and reporting structure for BI tools.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Train and assist the business with the usage of data tools as needed.
- Provide / coordinate business support as needed.
- Assist with roadmaps for BI tools and Snowflake as a data warehouse, keeping up to date with platform capabilities and how to implement new features.
- Evaluate AI capabilities in BI platform and Snowflake for future use.
- Work with business to design and build enterprise data products.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 7+ years of work experience in data management.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience mentoring employees in a data‑related field.
- Current or recent hands‑on experience with Power BI, AWS, Snowflake – this is a hands‑on role.
- 3+ years of Power
BI experience preferred. - 3+ years of technical hands‑on expertise in all aspects of Snowflake preferred, including Snowflake administration.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest Snowflake capabilities (Snowpark, Cortex, Streamlit, etc.).
- AWS experience required.
- Knowledge of security (SAML, OAuth, OpenID, Kerberos, policies, entitlements, etc.).
- Experience with architecting and maintaining high‑availability production systems.
- Experience with supporting databases deployed in AWS or Azure.
- ERP and/or accounting functional knowledge desired.
- Ability to collaborate with a cross‑functional team of developers and consultants and enjoy the challenge of shifting priorities to support a growing business.
- This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on‑site.
