Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you passionate about simplifying complex systems and driving meaningful impact on a global scale? Join our Global Trade Services (GTS) team to transform the way products navigate international regulatory environments. We’re looking for a strategic thinker and builder; someone who can help develop scalable, tech-enabled solutions to ensure seamless and compliant product movement across borders.

This is more than a compliance role: it's a chance to redefine trade classification and regulatory risk management at Amazon.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Define global strategies to meet diverse regulatory requirements across countries and product categories.
  • Build mechanisms to operationalize classification and compliance processes across millions of products.
  • Act as the connective tissue between product, tech, legal, operations, and policy teams.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize trade compliance processes and remove operational friction.
  • Build systems that proactively identify and address regulatory risks through metrics and automation.
A Day in the Life
  • Partner with policy teams, tech, and legal stakeholders to develop innovative classification strategies.
  • Lead strategy sessions to define the future of product classification for global trade.
  • Evaluate the regulatory impact of new product launches or country expansions.
  • Drive simplification by automating legacy manual processes.
  • Translate compliance complexity into scalable, measurable systems.
  • Develop KPIs to proactively assess and manage compliance risks.
About the Team

Global Trade Services (GTS) enables Amazon and its partners—customers, vendors, and sellers—to move products, technology, and software efficiently and compliantly across borders. We develop import/export solutions that ensure the right products get to the right places at the right time and cost.

This role will lead the development of our Product Classification (PC) strategy, with high visibility and direct impact on business expansion, operational efficiency, and regulatory risk mitigation. Your work will unlock scalable growth and innovation in one of the most complex areas of international trade.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in global trade, compliance, product classification, or supply chain.
  • A systems thinker with a bias for action and ownership.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and regulatory complexity.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for building mechanisms that scale.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in trade compliance, customs operations, customs brokerage, supply chain, logistics, or similar.
  • Experience building scalable programs and repeatable processes, leveraging various tools and methods to create scale and efficiency.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams, including operations.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company or handling multiple assignments while maintaining deadlines.
  • Experience working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology.
  • Experience in compliance, audit, or risk management.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Excel and SQL.
  • Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation.
  • Experience leading complex global or country-wide initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and convert them into actionable processes.
  • Familiarity with customs data, tariff codes, or trade automation tools.
  • Passion for innovation, operational excellence, and solving ambiguous regulatory challenges at scale.
