Analyst, Business Systems II

• 30% Elicit and document user requirements to meet a business objective; identify and validate requirements and organize information into a logical document that is understood by the customer and Information Systems.
• 25% Guide technical and customer departments in developing systems that support the business solution.
• 10% Facilitate transfer of knowledge about the direction of business units to other support staff.
• 10% Ensure accurate deployment of solutions through review of problem logs, test plans, test matrices, and other analysis activities.
• 10% Provide input on business direction for system changes.
• 10% Validate the business need for solutions to business problems and process improvements.
• 5% Assist in development and documentation of training materials; mentor or train less experienced staff.

• Demonstrated understanding of concepts within the supported business unit.
• Basic knowledge of standard industry practices.
• Knowledge of procedures for the business unit.
• Strong ability to communicate with technical and non‑technical audiences at all management levels.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and teamwork/interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and comment on test plans, test matrices, project plans, and scope and design documents.

• Conceptual understanding of project management techniques.
• Ability to influence and negotiate solutions to business problems.
• IT Business Analysis experience in healthcare, Medicare/Medicaid, or related BSA role.
• Proficiency in Visio and Excel.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Active certifications: CSPO, A‑CSPO, PMI‑ACP, CSP‑PO, CBAP, SAFe, LOMA, HIPAA.

Microsoft Office.

Visio, MS Project or similar; data mining using DB2, SQL, and/or other tools.

Fast‑paced, high‑demand environment with frequent mandatory deadlines. Requires balanced delegation of high‑priority tasks and readiness to respond 24x7 to support technical business needs.

• Required – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (4 years IT business analysis experience, or 2 years work experience plus an associate’s degree).
• Preferred – Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience with government business or BCBS companies.

Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), HIPAA, LOMA, CSPO, A‑CSPO, PMI‑ACP, CSP‑PO, SAFe Scaled Agile Certification, or similar.

$75,000 – $85,000 (conversion salary).
