Systems Administrator, Windows Server, Disaster Recovery IT, Network Administrator
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and availability of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure. This role provides hands‑on administration of servers, networks, operating systems, and enterprise platforms while collaborating with senior technical staff on system design, improvement initiatives, and operational best practices. The position emphasizes reliable system operations, documentation, problem resolution, and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Administer and maintain servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure services
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 system-related issues
- Perform system updates, patching, and preventative maintenance
- Manage user accounts, access requests, and permissions
- Monitor system performance and alerts; respond to incidents as needed
- Support backup, restore, and recovery operations
- Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, and inventories
- Participate in system upgrades, infrastructure projects, and technology rollouts
- Collaborate with senior administrators and other IT staff teams on system improvements
- Ensure systems comply with security policies and operational standards
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3 years of experience in systems administration or a related IT role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls)
- Experience supporting enterprise environments and production systems
- Experience with requirements of documentation and management
- Administration of servers, endpoints, and enterprise systems
- Proficiency with Active Directory, identity management, and access controls
- Experience with virtualization and/or cloud platforms (e.g., Hyper‑V, VMware, Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of backup, monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery practices
- Working knowledge of scripting or automation (Power Shell, Bash, or similar)
- Ability to follow, maintain, and improve technical documentation and runbooks
