Essential Job Duties

  • Perform database server installations, upgrades and patching, performance tuning, security, monitoring, and configuration.
  • Define standards for physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
  • Perform backup and recovery using native and third‑party backup tools.
  • Configure server and database settings for optimal database functionality.
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot automated database jobs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity and performance issues.
  • Monitor server and database metrics and respond to / resolve alerts.
  • Administer and maintain database access.
  • Create and maintain database and server documentation.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Demonstrate use of computer operations (programming, relational databases, operating systems) and software packages.
  • Basic messages communicated orally; may write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
Physical Demands / Work Environment

Work is primarily sedentary. Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer, keyboard and mouse frequently. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
