Important Notice:
We support the hardware platforms for environments such as VMware, Linux, Windows, backup systems, storage systems, and network hardware. We do not support the administration, operation, or applications operating upon the hardware. This position will be In-Office (not remote). This position requires a criminal background check and CJIS/FTI fingerprints. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history to be considered for this position.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in enterprise systems configuration and support.
Substitution for Bachelor's degree: Relevant IT Associate's Degree.
OR
An Associate's degree and two years of related IT experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.
Substitution of Experience for Education: Related IT experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.
Necessary Special Qualifications: None.
Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100% for Preferred Service positions.

Functional Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Data Center Systems Administrator to provide operational support for the organization's enterprise infrastructure environment. Responsibilities include administration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UCS profiles, virtualization platforms, storage systems, backup solutions, and related data center technologies. Incumbents are expected to exercise considerable independent judgment in resolving complex technical issues, implementing infrastructure changes, and ensuring the reliability, security, and availability of critical systems.
The Advanced Data Center Systems Administrator is expected to independently manage and support enterprise-class infrastructure, participate in system upgrades and technology initiatives, perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and contribute to the development of operational standards, procedures, and technical documentation. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to critical incidents in a 24/7 operational environment.
This class differs from that of Systems Administrator
¿ Intermediate in that incumbents are expected to perform advanced systems administration duties, provide technical leadership on complex issues, and support enterprise-level infrastructure under general supervision and guidance.
This class differs from that of Systems Administrator
¿ Lead in that incumbents primarily focus on the administration, support, and optimization of existing infrastructure, whereas the Lead is responsible for strategic planning, enterprise architecture, solution design, project leadership, and the coordination of technical staff.
