Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Edge Network Engineer to design, secure, and optimize our enterprise edge networking environment across both on‑premise and cloud platforms. This hybrid role, based in Nashville, TN, is ideal for a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls
, F5 load balancing
, and modern cloud networking solutions

- Design, implement, and maintain secure edge network architectures supporting on‑prem and cloud workloads.
- Engineer and support Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, Global Protect, and advanced security services (App‑, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering).
- Manage and optimize F5 BIG‑IP platforms including LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM, and APM modules.
- Architect and support cloud networking solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPCs, VNets, Transit Gateways, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers).
- Implement secure hybrid connectivity solutions such as site‑to‑site VPNs, Direct Connect, Express Route, or SD‑WAN.
- Ensure consistent security and routing policies across multi‑cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Develop and enforce network security standards, segmentation strategies, and zero‑trust principles.
- Monitor and troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and load‑balancing issues.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and root‑cause analysis.
- Automate network operations using scripting or infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Partner with security, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to support enterprise initiatives.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and escalation support for junior engineers.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and support critical incident response.
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Strong expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with F5 BIG‑IP load balancers (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM).
- Experience designing and supporting cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep understanding of routing, switching, DNS, SSL/TLS, and network security principles.
- Proficiency with automation and scripting for network operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in large‑scale, mission‑critical environments.
- Industry certifications such as:
- Palo Alto (PCNSA, PCNSE)
- F5 (CA, CTS)
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with SD‑WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with zero‑trust architectures and modern security frameworks.
- Experience supporting containerized or microservices environments.
