Systems Engineer, IT Project Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in strategy and standards development, designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems, applications, and networks. Oversee the technical aspects of a large number of complex relevant systems and ensure they are secure, scalable, and reliable. Provide guidance on the latest technologies and trends in the industry, lead technical projects, manage vendor relationships, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization and mentor fellow engineers.
To be successful as a principal infrastructure engineer, you should be able to evaluate user’s and client’s needs, time limitations, and system limitations when building solutions.
- System Uptime:
Ensure systems are available and performing as expected. - System Performance:
Ensure the speed and responsiveness of systems meet business requirements. - Innovation:
Identify and implement new technologies and trends that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of systems.

Providing technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers, developing technical standards and best practices, and ensuring that the organization’s IT infrastructure is aligned with business goals. - Cross‑functional
Collaboration:
Work across domains to deliver solutions in complex technology areas. - Technical Expertise:
Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry and provide guidance on their implementation. - Technology Strategy:
Contribute to infrastructure architecture and overall technology strategy. - Project Management:
Assist to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the organization’s needs. - Security:
Ensure all IT systems meet industry and company security standards, including monitoring, vulnerability testing, and risk management. - Communication:
Communicate effectively to ensure IT projects and initiatives align with business goals. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of all relevant IT systems, applications, and networks. - Budget Management:
Assist in managing IT budgets, ensuring projects and initiatives stay within budget constraints. - Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement within the organization’s IT systems and recommend and implement solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance. - Travel & On‑Call:
Limited travel (~10%) and participation in on‑call rotation and after‑hours support.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining complex IT systems.
- Experience in multiple technical areas such as infrastructure, software development, security, and cloud technologies.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers.
- Experience working on technical projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Extensive experience working with IT vendors and service providers.
- Extensive experience assisting in the management of IT budgets to ensure that projects and initiatives are delivered within budget constraints.
- Relevant industry certifications are preferred.

- 10+ years of experience in relevant technology functions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications and/or additional experience may be substituted.
