Job Description – Windows Administrator (Level2)

Job Summary
The Level 2 Windows Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory services, virtualization platforms, and enterprise infrastructure. The role provides advanced technical support, performs system administration tasks, troubleshoots complex issues, and ensures the availability, security, and performance of Windows-based systems.
Key Responsibilities Windows Server Administration- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 /2025 environments.
- Monitor server performance and health system.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Manage file servers, print servers, and application servers.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, and DHCP.
- Create and manage user accounts, security groups, and organizational units.
- Troubleshoot authentication and access‑related issues.
- Implement and maintain Group Policy standards.
- Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi and virtual machines.
- Support Microsoft Azure virtual machines and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimize virtual environment performance.
- Implement security best practices and hardening standards.
- Support endpoint security tools such as Microsoft Defender and EDR solutions.
- Perform vulnerability remediation and security patch management.
- Assist with audit requests and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, SOC, etc.).
- Monitor and maintain backup solutions (Veeam or equivalent).
- Conduct backup validation and restoration testing.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Analyze system logs and troubleshoot server, storage, and network‑related issues.
- Resolve escalated incidents from Level 1 support teams.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem management activities.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Document infrastructure changes and operational procedures.
- Provide periodic infrastructure health and performance reports.
- Strong experience with Windows Server Administration.
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management.
- VMware vSphere/ESXi administration.
- Power Shell scripting.
- Backup solutions (Veeam preferred).
- Microsoft 365 and Entra .
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancers).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, PRTG, or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Microsoft certifications is good to have
- Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience supporting production environments with minimal downtime.
