Support Engineer Tier II - MSP​/MSSP

Job Title: Tier 2 Support Engineer – MSP/MSSP (Managed Services & Security Provider)

We are currently seeking an experienced Tier 2 System Engineer to join our close-knit team and play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our clients' IT systems.

As a Tier 2 System Engineer at NSG you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our clients' IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with our agile team to diagnose and resolve complex system issues while providing exceptional, personalized support to our clients.

• Support our clients' technology both onsite and remotely.
• Monitor and maintain clients' IT systems, including servers, storage, and virtualization platforms, with a focus on delivering personalized solutions to the client.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, escalating to Tier 3 support when necessary.
• Collaborate with other team members to implement system upgrades, enhancements, and expansions that cater to the unique requirements of our clients.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, topologies, and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring easy access for our team.
• Assist with the onboarding of new clients by assessing their IT systems and providing recommendations for improvements based on their specific business requirements.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to provide after‑hours support as needed, ensuring our clients receive the dedicated service they deserve.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain expertise in the MSP/MSSP market.
• Office 365 and Microsoft Azure Implementation and Management experience.
• SIEM and EDR Implementation and Management experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Position is hybrid and will require being onsite.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in system administration or engineering, preferably within the MSP industry.
• Strong understanding of server operating systems, storage technologies, and virtualization platforms, such as VMware, Hyper‑V, or Azure.
• Strong understanding of core networking, routing and standard security practices.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking and security (AWS and Azure).
• Hands‑on experience with server hardware, storage solutions, and backup technologies from major vendors such as Dell, HP, IBM, and Net App.
• Familiarity with system monitoring and management tools, such as Solar Winds, Autotask, Kaseya, and Connect Wise.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional, personalized customer support.
