Sr. Solutions Architect; SLG), State and Local Government - Southeast Region

Overview

Position:
Solutions Architect – State and Local Government (AWS). Must reside in Nashville, TN or within reasonable commuting distance. Focus: accelerate state/local government business by leveraging AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Cloud Front) through technical engagement, architecture design, and secure solutions.

• Formulate and execute a sales strategy in partnership with the sales team to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions to design for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Conduct training sessions (e.g., Dev Days or Immersion Days) to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best‑practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community.
• Contribute to customer‑facing publications such as white papers.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of technology domain experience (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructure.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.

• Technical presentation experience – whiteboard, small and large group presentations.
• Web services development/deployment experience, cloud computing.
• Website/services operations, management, and security.
• Ability to travel 30%.
