Data Engineer
Location: Brentwood, TN (Hybrid)
Position Type: 12-Month Contract
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: $58/hr
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a growing Data Management and Business Intelligence team. This is a newly created position driven by continued growth and the need to build a stronger foundation for reporting, automation, analytics, and AI-driven initiatives.
The team is focused on improving how data is collected, organized, and delivered across the business. This role will help move manual and spreadsheet-based processes into scalable, governed data solutions while supporting business users, reporting teams, and technology partners.
You'll work closely with developers, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders to build data pipelines, improve data quality, and deliver reliable data products that support operational reporting, automation, and decision-making.
What You'll Do- Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Develop and support data warehouse solutions and curated datasets
- Integrate data from multiple source systems
- Prepare data for reporting, analytics, automation, applications, and AI-driven use cases
- Perform data acquisition, cleansing, parsing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
- Support data governance efforts, including lineage, documentation, testing, and change management
- Create and maintain data models that support business and reporting needs
- Monitor and improve data quality across platforms and processes
- Work with technical and business teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation and data standards
- Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with:
- Teradata Protocol Transport (TPT)
- SSIS
- Python
- Power Shell
- Cloud-based data services
- Experience with data acquisition, cleansing, parsing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
- Experience integrating data from multiple source systems
- Experience preparing data for reporting, analytics, automation, applications, and AI-related initiatives
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data structures, and data modeling
- Experience building curated datasets and governed data products
- Experience with one or more of the following database platforms:
- Google Big Query
- Teradata Vantage
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Other enterprise DBMS platforms
- Experience with data analysis and data visualization
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance lineage, documentation, testing, and change management practices
- Strong SQL skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with Teradata
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms
