WAN Infrastructure Management
This role is part of a regional team that owns the implementation and lifecycle management of wide area network (WAN) infrastructure assisting Amazon's fulfillment, logistics, and corporate network across North America. The team operates at massive scale to enable the delivery of millions of customer orders every day. As an individual contributor, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of voice and data circuits across the Americas region, including planning, ordering, implementation, augmentation, optimization, and decommissioning.
You will play a critical role in ensuring reliable, scalable, and cost-effective network linkage to assist Amazon's rapidly expanding infrastructure footprint. The role requires an individual with strong ownership, the ability to operate independently with limited direction, and the capability to drive large-scale initiatives across multiple geographic regions. You will contribute to automation efforts, build scalable mechanisms, and eliminate manual and repetitive processes to improve delivery speed and operational efficiency.
You will work closely with Engineering, Network Operations, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Finance, and external telecom vendors to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of network services for new site launches and ongoing operations. You will also act as a key point of contact for circuit delivery and vendor coordination, helping resolve complex challenges, driving process improvements, and aiding long-term scalability of network delivery processes across North America.
Key job responsibilities include owning the end-to-end lifecycle of data and voice circuits, driving execution of circuit delivery across Amazon's North America infrastructure at scale, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements, troubleshooting and resolving complex delivery issues, partnering with Engineering, Network Operations, Launch, and Real Estate teams, engaging with telecom service providers, contributing to building scalable mechanisms and standard processes, guiding cross-functional programs, and demonstrating a high level of ownership, bias for action, and continuous improvement in day-to-day operations.
Amazon offers a full range of benefits for you and eligible family members, including domestic partners. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment. The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include medical, dental, and vision coverage, maternity and parental leave options, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
Basic qualifications include 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience, experience in telecom/network delivery, WAN infrastructure, or circuit lifecycle management, strong program or project management skills, experience working with telecom vendors and managing service delivery, ability to troubleshoot complex network delivery issues, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience with large-scale network deployments or infrastructure programs, familiarity with automation, tooling, or process improvement initiatives, and experience with data center connectivity, including WAN circuits, cross-connects, and colocation environments.
