Senior Manager, Data Science

Starbucks is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead advanced analytics that elevates customer experience and store performance across our global coffeehouse network. You will build and guide a high-performing data science team, driving projects in forecasting, personalization, pricing, and store operations optimization. Partnering with product, marketing, and operations, you'll translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. You will champion experimentation, ethical data use, and scalable ML solutions, while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture aligned with Starbucks' mission, sustainability goals, and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a data science team delivering high-impact analytics and ML solutions.
• Design and implement models for forecasting, personalization, and operational optimization.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, finance, and operations to define data-driven strategies.
• Translate complex analyses into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Establish best practices for experimentation, model governance, and ethical data use.
• Oversee data pipelines and model deployment in partnership with engineering and IT.
• Monitor and improve model performance, scalability, and reliability in production.
• Promote an inclusive, collaborative culture aligned with Starbucks' mission and values.
• Identify new data sources and methods to enhance customer and store insights.
• Communicate results and ROI through compelling visualizations and storytelling.
