Fractional Legal Counsel

Our client, a pioneering fintech company, is seeking to add a critical new member to their team as they prepare to launch into a significant growth phase. With secured commitments for a $2 million seed round, they are poised to expand their operations and market footprint. The in-house legal resource will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and effective legal management, contributing to the company's strategic objectives and supporting its projected customer growth.

• Handle day-to-day startup legal needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Manage and draft boilerplate legal documents, including employment contracts.
• Review and provide advice on legal documents with a high degree of certainty (80-90%).
• Act as a legal advisor to the executive team, offering insights into when to engage larger law firms.
• Support the transition of contractors to employees with appropriate legal documentation.

• Demonstrated experience in startup legal work, preferably within the fintech sector.
• Proven track record of acting as an advisor to executive teams.
• Capability to manage routine legal tasks while balancing costs effectively.
• Strong understanding of when and how to partner with larger law firms for complex legal needs.
• Flexibility to work approximately 10 hours per month, with potential for increased hours during initial onboarding.
