Vehicle Yard Associate

Job Description

As a critical member of IAA, you will engage with the latest technologies while being part of the evolving auction industry using cutting‑edge tools and resources.

• Conduct vehicle check‑ins by accurately recording and organizing information for vehicles at our facility.
• Detail vehicles to enhance their appearance and market value, with training provided.
• Safely operate passenger vehicles, maneuvering them around the facility and participating in drive‑through auctions.
• Recover keys, license plates, and other items from vehicles and store them appropriately.
• Assist visitors by offering guidance and directing them to the right contacts for further assistance.
• Receive on‑the‑job training in operating forklifts and loaders.

A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. This role involves physical demands, so please ensure you are prepared for an active work environment.

We are looking for a friendly and positive attitude to create exceptional customer experiences. Knowledge of cars or mechanical basics will help you succeed here. Team collaboration is essential to our operations!

While not required, candidates with basic automotive repair skills or experience in rental or construction fields may find this role particularly rewarding. Previous experience in equipment rental, construction, or related areas is advantageous.

• Ability to implement security, maintenance, and safety measures to protect company and customer assets.
• Proficient use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety gloves, safety glasses).
• Capability to identify and respond to potentially unsafe situations to prevent accidents.
• Familiarity with industry regulations for handling hazardous materials.
• Ability to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
• Capacity to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional ability to lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs.
• Constant ability to reach outward, handle objects, stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequent ability to bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl.
• This role requires primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Must stay vigilant to potential hazards from heavy equipment and other vehicles in the work area.

• This position involves predominantly outdoor work in all weather types.
• Awareness of potential hazards associated with heavy machinery and vehicles is necessary.
