Job Title
Job Purpose Oversee the day-to-day transportation operations across the North America region to ensure efficient execution, service reliability, and operational stability. Lead the operational layer of the Transport Control Tower to manage transport planning coordination, execute visibility, and exceptional handling across multiple business units and locations. Ensure that transportation activities are aligned with service level agreements, cost targets, and operational constraints while serving as the central coordination point between plants, customer service, carriers, and logistics partners.
Will support the implementation and use of digital logistics tools including transportation management systems and visibility platforms.
- Lead daily transport operations across North America, ensuring efficient coordination of shipments across business units and locations. Will identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency, service, and cost performance.
- Oversee transport planning execution, carrier assignment, and shipment monitoring. Will serve as the primary operational contact for carriers and logistics partners.
- Oversee and guide transport planners in load optimization, routing, and tendering decisions.
- Ensure full visibility of shipments from planning to delivery, leveraging Transportation Management System and visibility tools. Will ensure tools are used effectively in daily operations.
- Ensure proper application of Less-Than-Truckload rating logic and tariff structures (e.g., SMC3 or equivalent) in daily operations, supporting planners in correct carrier selection, cost validation, and execution decisions.
- Proactively manage operational exceptions (delays, capacity issues, disruptions).
- Coordinate corrective actions with carriers, plants, and customer service.
- Bachelor of Science in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years' experience in transportation operations or logistics to include managing transportation execution in multi-site environment, leading operational teams, and using transportation management systems/logistics digital tools.
- Exemplified knowledge of Less-Than-Truckload transportation to include rating structures, tariffs, and operational implications on service and cost.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor performance and drive improvements.
- Effective collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong operational skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience using enterprise resource planning and transportation management systems. Experience with SAP RM and SAP Business Network for Logistics (BN4l) strongly preferred.
The salary range for these skills is $90,000.00 - $ based upon experience. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus target of 10%, based on individual and company performance.
