Position Summary
The primary function of a dispatcher is to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in day‑to‑day operations. The dispatcher promotes corporate policies and manages equipment, trucks, delivery personnel, and materials, overseeing all delivery, warehouse, and facility activities.
Responsibilities- Process sales orders quickly and accurately, set up job information, and confirm appropriate reports that support sales order processing.
- Process credit memos on the computer.
- Assist customers with will‑call orders.
- Supervise stocking crews, conduct performance reviews, employee orientation, and coordinate driver training.
- Schedule and dispatch crews to maximize time efficiency and monitor labor costs on each job.
- Compute payroll accurately and on time.
- Train new stockers on safe and correct job performance.
- Complete new‑hire and training paperwork promptly.
- Ensure compliance with the VCR program.
- Oversee the triple‑count and job completer program.
- Maintain front counter, office/dispatch, restroom, and yard/warehouse cleanliness.
- Ensure trucks are clean.
- Perform work safely.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of related work experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately.
- Proficiency in reading road/geographical maps and communicating directions.
- Demonstrated organizational skills in job performance.
- Ability to follow instructions with limited guidance.
Must remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time, occasionally moving within the office to access files and office machinery. Must be able to operate basic office machinery and communicate with team and management.
