A2B Rec is partnering with a multi-billion-dollar global organization within the renewable energy sector that develops advanced infrastructure solutions supporting large-scale clean energy projects worldwide.

Role Overview :

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Sourcing to lead the sourcing strategy for steel across North America.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing long-term sourcing strategies, leading supplier partnerships, negotiating complex commercial agreements, and driving cost, quality, and supply continuity across a critical raw materials category. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to build a resilient supply base capable of supporting continued business growth.

This opportunity would suit someone with significant experience sourcing steel or other industrial metals within a complex manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for steel and metal commodities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team, providing strategic direction and coaching.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills, processors, service centres and other key suppliers.
  • Negotiate long-term commercial agreements and supplier partnerships.
  • Drive total cost of ownership initiatives while ensuring supply continuity, quality and capacity.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Planning and Finance to align sourcing strategy with business demand.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, onboard new suppliers and drive continuous supplier performance improvements.
  • Monitor commodity markets, pricing trends and supply risks to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes through early supplier engagement.
  • Present sourcing strategies, supplier performance and market insights to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or category management with significant responsibility for steel, metals or other industrial raw materials.
  • Previous experience leading sourcing or procurement teams.
  • Demonstrated success building long-term supplier partnerships within the steel or metals supply chain.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, logistics and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
