The Purchasing & Sourcing Manager leads procurement and sourcing across assigned categories to support business objectives and Marq Labs operations. This role directs the purchasing and sourcing team, manages inventory and materials, and drives supplier selection, competitive bidding, negotiation, contracting, and performance management. The manager ensures strong controls, cost efficiency, quality, service, continuity of supply, and risk mitigation while partnering cross-functionally to meet operational priorities.

This position also sources raw ingredients and components from local and international suppliers and leads a team of buyers to execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads end-to-end sourcing and purchasing activities, including supplier identification, bid solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing supplier management for components, supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
  • Develops sourcing strategies and supplier agreements that deliver the best overall value while balancing cost, quality, service, continuity of supply, inventory levels, and commercial terms.
Supplier Management & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Builds strong supplier partnerships, monitors supplier and distributor performance against KPIs and contractual expectations, and resolves issues involving delivery, quality, technical requirements, warranty claims, pricing, and terms of sale.
  • Partners with production, operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify business needs, ensure timely sourcing of materials, and assess current and future material availability based on market conditions, delivery systems, and business requirements.
Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
  • Drives cost-saving and process improvement initiatives by benchmarking costs, analyzing pricing trends, monitoring market conditions, and identifying opportunities to improve sourcing effectiveness and business results.
  • Develops and maintains purchasing, contract, and recordkeeping systems to maximize efficiency, optimize workflow, and support effective reporting.
  • Leads, develops, and supports the purchasing team, including setting clear expectations and appropriate purchasing authorization limits.
Industry Awareness & Additional Support
  • Stays current on market trends, supplier capabilities, and business needs through ongoing training, industry events, and professional development.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned in response to changing business needs and organizational priorities.
Minimum Previous Experience & Educational

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Approximately six (6) years of combined experience and/or education demonstrating strong knowledge of purchasing or supply chain management; experience in sourcing, negotiating, and vendor management required.
  • Purchasing or Supply Chain certification preferred.
  • Experience in the cosmetics/beauty industry highly desirable
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Intermediate to strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Google Suite/Docs and ERP systems such as Net Suite & SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis, with the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies that deliver positive business results.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work collaboratively in a cross-functional, globally matrixed environment, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
