- Manage purchase orders for goods and services
- Solicit quotes and negotiate terms and conditions
- Maintain accurate supplier records
- Source and onboard new suppliers in accordance with contracts and university policies
- Act as primary liaison between university customers and suppliers
- Draft and negotiate contracts for goods and services
- Support supplier negotiations, requests for proposals, supplier performance evaluations, and contract deployment
- Evaluate supplier performance and contractual compliance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Ensure procurement compliance with university policies, regulations, and best practices
- Promote sustainable procurement and ethical sourcing
- Analyze procurement data and generate reports using procurement software
- Provide procurement transaction support and customer service to faculty, staff, and students
- Promote innovation and mitigate procurement risks
- Report to the Senior Manager of Procurement Operations
- No regular supervisory responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant procurement experience
- Five years of progressive procurement experience may substitute for a degree
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other purchasing professional certification preferred
- Minimum of 2+ years of purchasing experience in a complex organization
- Thorough understanding of procurement processes and best practices
- Attention to detail and highly organized work style
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience with electronic purchasing systems and eProcurement platforms
- Preference for proficiency in Oracle Cloud Procurement and Contract Management
- Strong technical skills with procurement software and eProcurement platforms
- Advanced analytical skills and ability to interpret procurement data
- Experience managing orders funded by federal, state, or private grants
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Adaptability and openness to change
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with diverse individuals
Demonstrates expertise in procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management while ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations. Proficient in analyzing procurement data and utilizing eProcurement platforms to drive cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
