Therole
The Barrel Logistics & Inventory Lead is a hands-on, full-time role based on-site in Nashville. You’ll run day-to-day warehouse and logistics work - forklift, physical labor, and phone/dispatch all in the same day. You’ll oversee barrel and asset inventory (receiving, storage, tracking, and reconciliation) and coordinate daily logistics activities including shipment scheduling, export documentation, and carrier communication. Reports to the Director of Operations & Logistics.
Whatyou’ll do
- Organize and manage warehouse inventory, including receiving, labeling, and reconciling physical and system records
- Operate a forklift (certified or willing to be - we’ll pay for certification)
- Pull and ship product samples
- Load and unload loose-loaded trucks by hand
- Lead communication with inbound and outbound drivers, carriers, and warehouse partners
- Coordinate shipments and manage export documentation and compliance
- Interact with distilleries, brand owners, and internal teams on order status and issue resolution
- Analyze stock levels and movement, identify discrepancies, and support process improvements
- During downtime, book, call, and dispatch carriers for our in-house logistics and freight brokerage operations
- 2+ years in warehouse, logistics, or related operations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Solid analytical skills for interpreting inventory data and identifying discrepancies
- Comfortable with physical labor and being on your feet
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Reliable and detail-oriented
- Supply chain management experience across warehousing and transportation
- Export experience - international shipping docs, customs, and compliance
- Distillery, brewery, or bonded warehouse background
- Dispatch or freight brokerage experience
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and spreadsheets
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or operations management (or equivalent experience)
