Summary:

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting sourcing and supplier management activities across the organization while ensuring compliance with all import, export, and tariff-related requirements. This role partners closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, customs brokers, freight providers, and government agencies to facilitate the efficient movement of goods, maintain regulatory compliance, minimize cost impacts, and support continuity of supply.

This individual is accountable for coordinating sourcing initiatives, managing supplier-related documentation, monitoring tariff classifications and trade regulations, supporting import and export transactions, resolving shipping and customs issues, and identifying opportunities to improve sourcing and trade processes. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective supplier communication, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support sourcing initiatives for direct and indirect materials, components, and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in accordance with company requirements.
• Solicit and analyze supplier quotations, lead times, capabilities, and commercial terms.
• Maintain supplier records, contracts, certifications, and related sourcing documentation.
• Partner with Purchasing and Operations teams to support supply continuity and supplier performance improvement efforts.
• Assist in supplier negotiations related to pricing, lead times, freight terms, and commercial agreements.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and collaborate with suppliers to resolve service, quality, and delivery issues.
• Support supplier risk assessments and mitigation activities.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in cost reduction and supply chain optimization initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with applicable U.S. customs regulations, tariff requirements, and international trade laws.
• Review and manage Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for imported products.
• Monitor tariff changes, trade regulations, special trade programs, and customs requirements that may impact the business.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and third-party experts to ensure accurate classifications and duty assessments.
• Maintain supporting documentation required for audits, customs reviews, and regulatory reporting.
