Production Buyer

** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
** Maintain the QAD ERP System (Item Master, Supplier Schedules, EDI 830 releases & CUMs)
Identify Customer EDI, QAD Part Setup or Bill-of-Material issues that are negatively impacting the accuracy and effectiveness of the QAD MRP recommendations

Coordinate purchase order releases for all suppliers to meet manufacturing schedules and customer demand

Track supplier delivery performance and expedited freight

Resolve invoicing/receipt issues between Suppliers / Finance Schedule shipments of returnable packaging to suppliers

Forecast raw glass and vinyl usage which have long lead times and or sporadic production campaigns

Escalate supplier issues to SCM Commodity Managers Conduct cycle counts to identify and correct discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy for all purchased components

Actively participate in monthly Physical Inventory counts

Create, implement and maintain a FIFO Inventory system

Adjust inventory levels as required based on customer demand fluctuations while maintaining adequate safety stock

Provide short and long-term forecasts to suppliers

Properly store hazardous or temperature sensitive materials

Monitor material Shelf Life to minimize obsolescence

Maintain optimal inventory levels while achieving the targeted inventory reduction goal, minimize EOP obsolescence

Coordinate new part prototype orders to support SOP Professional verbal & written communication with Suppliers when participating on high pressure expedite escalation calls
** REQUIREMENTS

* Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or relevant field required

Years of

Experience:

4-8 years of experience in Purchasing, Material Planning, SCM in a Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing environment

Experience using an integrated ERP system in a manufacturing environment, QAD experience preferred

Other Requirements:

Cooperation within teams to successfully carry out tasks and responsibilities

Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required, including weekends and holidays

Regular and predictable attendance required

** In-depth knowledge of the QAD Item Master, Supplier Schedules, EDI 830 releases & CUMsAdvanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite;
Word, Excel, and Power Point Hands -on approach to problem solving and analysis

Excellent Analytical Skills, particularly in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations while maintaining a positive attitude

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
