General Management
(2-3 sentences describing job purpose):
Plans, organizes and manages all aspects of the student transportation program. Directs and reviews district-wide bus routing schedules; directs the efforts of the fleet maintenance program; oversees all training of new employees assigned to the department; and establishes staff development for the departments’ administration, support staff, fleet maintenance staff and driving corps. Develops and implements programs within organizational policies; reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.

Leads and supervises transportation system employees. - Job Duty/Resp. 2:
Communicates with parents, teachers, and staff on issues relating to routing, transportation, zoning, etc. - Job Duty/Resp. 3:
Schedules, plans, and leads meetings with transportation system employees to educate them on policy and procedure matters. - Job Duty/Resp. 4:
Reports activities and developments to senior staff and administration through scheduled meetings and reports. - Job Duty/Resp. 5:
Prepares and manages the transportation programs’ annual operating budget. - Job Duty/Resp. 6:
Conducts and leads the transportation programs’ Human Resource department, including all general Human Resource activities and disciplinary actions. - Job Duty/Resp. 7:
Planning, evaluating, and overseeing staff training and development meetings. - Job Duty/Resp. 8:
Keeps abreast of federal, state and local laws which impact student transportation.
Education (training/degree) : Required minimum:
Requires education or training equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Management, or a related field. Preferred: to enter text.
Experience Requirements: Requires ten years of related experience. More specific degree, certification, and experience requirements will be included in the position announcement as vacancies occur.
