About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, influential leader to animate and drive a holistic Codes & Standards (C&S) strategy for North America. This role will shape the direction of Electrical Safety, Installation & Commissioning, Digitization, Sustainability, and the New Energy Landscape (NEL), while ensuring alignment with regional and global business priorities.

You will serve as the organization’s thought leader in codes and standards—advancing strategic positions, influencing key external organizations, and elevating our industry presence through publications, speaking engagements, and committee leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead the development and execution of an agile, end-to-end C&S strategy across all major pillars (Electrical Safety, Installation & Commissioning, Digitization, Sustainability, NEL).
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with C&S slice leaders, leagues, and global marketing to ensure unified strategy and advocacy.
  • Build and maintain a system of management and collaboration platform to ensure transparency, alignment, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Ensure all C&S initiatives directly support the NAM Hub strategic roadmap.

External Influence & Industry Engagement

  • Represent the organization across major standards bodies, including UL, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NEC and other national or international committees.
  • Influence codes and standards development to secure favorable industry positions, shaping regulatory direction for key end markets.
  • Coordinate participation in technical committees, industry conferences, working groups, and standards-development activities.

Thought Leadership

  • Drive long-term strategy for the organization’s presence in external codes and standards arenas.
  • Publish white papers, technical articles, and thought-leadership materials that advance industry dialogue and reinforce brand leadership.
  • Serve as a featured speaker at conferences, symposiums, and industry events.
  • Partner with global marketing to develop and maintain a robust thought-leadership program.

Education, Training & Internal Enablement

  • Lead education and continuous training efforts across the NAM Hub, Power Products, and Power Systems.
  • Provide consolidated, actionable updates on code changes for product owners and chapter leaders.
  • Ensure timely dissemination of insights that support product strategy, compliance, and competitiveness.

Cross-Divisional & Global Collaboration

  • Exchange C&S insights, progress, and best practices with other divisions and global stakeholders.
  • Promote global consistency in C&S alignment and influence activities
Required
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or code-related domains.
  • Strong understanding of electrical technologies—both current and emerging—including applications across key end markets (e.g., power distribution, microgrids, data centers, industrial facilities, EV infrastructure, renewables, and advanced power systems).
  • Prior exposure to codes and standards bodies such as UL, IEEE, NEMA, and NFPA.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a matrixed, multinational environment (US, Canada, Mexico).
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation to senior audiences.
  • Proven project, process, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, embrace change, and advocate for continuous improvement.
Highly Desirable
  • Direct experience influencing industry committees or shaping codes and standards.
  • Experience collaborating closely with product managers on C&S topics.
  • Record of published technical papers, conference presentations, or recognized thought-leadership contributions.
