Responsible for P&L, top line sales, gross margin and all direct costs of an assigned geographical sales and distribution district. May have multiple sales territories and distribution facilities in assigned district. Responsible for all aspects of sales and operations within district (e.g. sales, customer service, logistics / distribution management, inventory, and personnel). Supports and drives sales force effectiveness and key productivity initiatives.
KEYTASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly. Models and enforces company values.
- Responsible for aligning local market strategy with corporate strategy to maximize long-term profit / return on working capital. Communicates strategy to and plans to entire team.
- Has a thorough understanding of the market and establishes Ed’s visibility in the market. Defines and executes key metrics for district’s success. Identifies and drives key business development opportunities / new revenue streams.
- Provides strategic leadership for department managers within functional areas including sales, marketing, purchasing, operations, logistics and warehouse operations. Gives teams daily direction and establishes performance goals consistent with meeting targets outlined in the Annual Operating Plan.
- Partners with sales leadership team to manage and cultivate relationships with key customers as well as suppliers. Guides strategy for value proposition and product penetration initiatives. Analyzes market trends, the competitive environment and emerging opportunities to navigate the business ahead of market changes.
- Leads Branch Manager team:
Select/hire Branch Managers, sets market level objectives, directs applicable training, provides coaching and mentorship. Focused on fostering a positive work culture that encourages a high level of engagement and productivity. Aligns sales strategy and operational goals within each market. - Directs Operations Manager in support of branch operations. This includes Eclipse software training for branch teams, increasing branch operational efficiencies, improving processes and procedures, facilitating flow of information and overseeing all transactional integrity of the branches.
- Oversight responsibility of Purchasing/procurement team. Purchasing has responsibility for supplier management and sourcing, price maintenance and inventory management.
- Varying levels of travel on behalf of the company is part of the requirement for this role.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCEEducation Requirements:
BS / BA Degree in Business, related field or equivalent industry experience preferred. MS / MA / MBA a plus.

10+ years of experience in related field preferred; 8+ years with MS/MA/MBA.
