Description

A General Cleaning / Janitorial / Custodial Supervisor is an employee assigned to oversee the overall janitorial services operation at the Nashville International Airport. The General Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and training of all custodial staff hired to service the facility.

Shift: 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM (3rd Shift)

Pay rate: $21 per hour (starting rate based on experience)

Must be willing to work weekends. Depending on daily staffing levels, supervisors/management may be required to perform general cleaning & supervision duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Flexibility with working hours to support operations as required.
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with customers, managers, and front‑line employees on work requests and inspections.
  • Orientate and train employees.
  • Assign, supervise, and inspect cleaner's completion of daily janitorial work tasks.
  • Assist in completion of daily paperwork and quality check sheets.
  • Conduct site safety / quality inspections (equipment, SDS, PPE, etc.).
  • Provide safety training when appropriate and monitor staff ensuring that PPE is worn at all times and other protective measures are taken.
  • Track and manage supplies at site, and ensure supplies are ordered/requested in a timely manner.
  • Report any employee issues to the operations manager.
  • Adhere to company guidelines for discipline and termination procedures.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures without exception.
  • Schedule additional project work and handle all other assignments as designated by the project manager.
  • Supply each area with supplies needed weekly.
  • Be able to lift 10–20 lbs and maneuver 100–220 lbs pallets with paper products, soap, etc.

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in janitorial work.

Work Environment
  • Fast paced environment.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to be on feet for up to 6 hours at a time.
Bonus Programs
  • $500 New Hire Bonuses
    New Hires who successfully complete their first 90 days of employment will receive a $250 bonus. The new hire will receive $100 after working a full schedule for the first 30 days of employment and another $150 after working a full schedule for the first 90 days of employment without any type of leave or unapproved time off.
  • $250 Retention Bonus
    New Hires who remain actively employed for 6 months will receive a $250 bonus. The new hire must be an active employee and work their schedule for the first 6 months of employment without taking leave, unscheduled or unapproved time off.
  • $200 Referral Bonus
    Any employee who refers an applicant who is hired and successfully completes the 30‑day probationary period will receive a $200 bonus. The applicant must name the employee as their referrer on their application, be hired as a part‑time or full‑time employee of PBMC, and successfully complete the 30‑day probationary period.
Requirements
  • Must pass background check.
  • Ability to build relationships with both the client and employees.
  • Ability to stay on task while working independently.
  • Ability to manage people; previous management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies used in large‑scale janitorial activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of the qualities, adaptability, and uses of common tools, equipment, and materials used in the janitorial service industry.
