KCI Technologies is seeking a Practice Leader to lead our Highways Practice in Nashville, TN.

• Highly self‑motivated dynamic individual
• Directly reports to the Regional Practice Leader
• Serves as a Practice Leader in the Transportation Design Discipline
• Marketing/Business Development – build backlog by pursuing and winning new projects for Transportation Design
  • Identify target clients and opportunities that best position KCI to expand our presence in the market and build backlog
  • Meet with existing and potential clients to position KCI for future work
  • Lead the effort to market and position the firm to capture the opportunities
  • Lead/assist with teaming efforts
  • Lead development of proposals
• Design/Build – work closely with KCI D/B Practice and others to assess the D/B market
  • When appropriate, serve as Project Manager or Pursuit Lead on applicable projects
• Management/Leadership/Motivation
  • Provide leadership/mentorship/motivation to staff
  • Take an active role in recruitment and development of new staff
• Project Management/Engineering – serve as a Project Manager on design or design‑build projects
  • Develop or assist with scope, schedule and fees for projects
  • Serve as a PM or technical resource to develop plans, specifications and estimates
  • Provide independent QA/QC on projects
• Work closely with other KCI Disciplines to market/cross‑sell/engineer work
• This position requires a TN PE or the ability to obtain one within 6 months

Leadership and Management

• Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers (PMs) and Senior Project Managers (Sr. PMs), and staff within the practice.
• Support the professional growth and development of Sr. PMs, PMs, and staff. Provide technical project and staff oversight.
• Assume responsibility for the business within the practice, focusing on achieving budgeted margins, project health, and effective cash management across collective projects.
• Collaborate closely with other Practice Leaders to share best practices and optimize collective success.
• Hire and manage the work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required.
• Track and coordinate practice performance results.
• Provide project and client leads to other practice leaders to grow their practices.
• Serve as project manager on select projects.
• Ensure a high level of quality on all projects within practice.
