Electromechanical Equipment Technician, CNC & Material Handling – O’Neal Steel; Nashville

Responsibilities

• Work with modern CNC, sawing, press brake, and automated handling systems in a fast-paced metals processing environment.
• Use both mechanical and electrical skills daily—diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Keep production assets running at peak performance through scheduled PMs and swift corrective maintenance.
• Perform failure analysis and recommend improvements to boost throughput, capability, and yield.
• Capture findings in concise technical reports to guide follow-up actions.
• Troubleshoot advanced processing equipment: CNC machinery, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and saws.
• Lay out work; calculate, balance, and align components for optimal performance.
• Execute rigging and safety-critical tasks to move and position equipment properly.
• Fabricate, modify, or fit parts using cold rolled steel, stainless, plate, structural shapes, other metals, plastics, fittings, valves, and assorted mechanical parts.
• Maintain electrical systems to code; program VFDs and troubleshoot PLCs.
• Verify electrical integrity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.

• Solid troubleshooting fundamentals and the ability to assist with diagnostics and repairs on sophisticated equipment.
• Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience obtained through one of the following:
• Industrial/manufacturing work with the systems listed above, or
• Completion of a mechanical or electrical repair training program, or
• An acceptable combination of education and hands-on experience.

1st shift:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Overtime will be required as needed.
