Turn Great Designs into Precision Production Files

Jarvis Signs is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Production File Technician to join our production team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate, production-ready CNC files that drive the fabrication process. Rather than operating the CNC router, you'll focus on creating optimized CAM files that ensure parts are cut accurately, efficiently, and ready for assembly.

The ideal candidate understands both CAM programming and sign fabrication, allowing them to create files that work seamlessly in a real-world manufacturing environment. If you enjoy problem-solving, precision, and seeing your work come to life in production, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare cut-ready production files from approved sign designs and artwork for CNC routing.
  • Program efficient toolpaths, including nesting, cut order, tabs, offsets, and bit selection using CAM software.
  • Select appropriate machining strategies based on material type, including aluminum, acrylic, PVC, ACM, and other sign substrates.
  • Optimize sheet layouts and nesting to maximize material usage and minimize waste.
  • Deliver organized, production-ready files to CNC operators with clear notes and special instructions.
  • Collaborate with designers and production staff to ensure files account for assembly methods, layering, LED components, raceways, mounting, and fabrication requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and revise files based on operator feedback, including tolerance adjustments and toolpath corrections.
  • Maintain organized production files for consistency and future manufacturing.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce production time.
Qualifications &

Preferred Experience

We're looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following:

  • CAM programming and CNC file preparation using VCarve, EnRoute, Aspire, or similar CAM software.
  • Preparing production-ready CNC files for sign manufacturing, custom fabrication, cabinetry, woodworking, or related industries.
  • Reading and interpreting design files and converting them into accurate, production-ready CNC programs.
  • Working knowledge of sign fabrication methods, materials, and assembly processes.
  • Understanding how signs are manufactured—not just how to generate toolpaths.
  • Optimizing sheet layouts and nesting to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with tight tolerances.
  • Basic shop mathematics, measurements, and material yield calculations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting production deadlines.
  • Experience operating a CNC router is beneficial but not required for this position.
What Makes You Successful
  • Produces accurate, organized files that require little or no modification before machining.
  • Understands how manufacturing decisions impact assembly, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the production team.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and producing high-quality work.
Why Join Jarvis Signs?

As our CNC Production File Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every project begins with accurate, efficient production files that keep manufacturing running smoothly. Benefits Include:
