Responsibilities- Sanitize plant floors, belts, machinery, and other production equipment on a daily basis.
- Perform master sanitation of docks, warehouse areas, dry mixers, wet mixers, and other designated zones according to schedule.

- Physically remove soils such as dirt, mineral salts, residues, proteins, lubricants, gross solids, and other residues from all contact surfaces.
- Disassemble machinery as required for thorough cleaning, and properly cover sensitive electronics and switches before cleaning.
- Rinse equipment surfaces from top to bottom using warm potable water at less than 120°F (48.9°C), except in designated dry food areas where moisture must be avoided.

- Inspect equipment carefully to confirm that all contact surfaces, especially food-contact areas, are free of visible soil before sanitizing.
- Apply sanitizers or disinfectants according to established procedures and food safety guidelines.
- Perform deep cleaning of all areas during scheduled weekend sanitation, as needed and when volunteering for additional hours.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about sanitation tasks, issues, and process improvements.
- Adapt to changing processes, schedules, and procedures as the plant scales up operations.
- Follow all GMP and FDA-related sanitation, safety, and food manufacturing standards.
- Maintain a safe work area by using proper cleaning techniques, handling chemicals appropriately, and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Participate in on-the-job training and apply learned techniques consistently to maintain high sanitation standards.
- Industrial sanitation experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Food production sanitation experience, including work in GMP or FDA-regulated facilities.
- Proficiency in the 7 Steps of Sanitation and the ability to apply them consistently.
- Experience with janitorial and industrial cleaning duties in a manufacturing or food environment.

- Knowledge of proper rinsing techniques, including temperature limits for potable water and special handling of dry food areas.

- Familiarity with detergents, foaming applications, and post-rinse procedures for industrial equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work evening and overnight shifts, including potential voluntary weekend work.
- Comfort working with highly automated equipment and following detailed cleaning protocols.
- Ability to follow GMP standards and food manufacturing sanitation requirements.
