We have an immediate opening for MIG Welders on 2nd shift in the Kodak/Morristown, TN area. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire and successful candidates must be able to pass a 3G horizontal weld test. Starting pay range is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift premium for 2nd shift. Welders will train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift after training.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to handle weld preparation, production welding, and weld finishing operations. In this role, you will manufacture high-quality products according to customer drawings, engineering specifications, and technical instructions. You will operate with minimal supervision on routine tasks and collaboratively on complex new assignments while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Welding & Fabrication:
Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding machines, flow meters, scaling guns, and grinders. - Blueprint Reading:
Interpret mechanical drawings and structural blueprints, with a firm understanding of specific weld requirements and symbols. - Quality & Inspection:
Utilize weld fillet gages to perform visual inspections on completed work, ensuring alignment with strict company and industry workmanship standards. - Workflow Management:
Manage job orders of moderate complexity, execute tasks to meet production schedules, and complete basic departmental functions within the computer system. - Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all internal and external regulatory standards, safety procedures, and department-specific quality rules.
- Problem Solving:
Ability to exercise independent judgment to resolve simple production problems and make routine recommendations. - Autonomy:
Capable of working with no instruction on routine daily tasks and following general instruction on new assignments. - Soft Skills:
Self-motivated, highly organized, and committed to meeting rigorous quality and timeline targets. - Basic Literacy:
Proficiency in basic reading, writing, and mathematical calculations.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, paired with formal technical welding training. - Experience:
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred). - Assessments:
Must pass a mandatory fillet weld assessment in Vertical and Overhead positions (covering both single and multiple passes). - Certifications:
Must successfully pass both written and practical certification assessments for BC (manual steel fillet) and CJ (manual stainless steel) processes.
