Job Summary and Qualifications

The Specialist Communications and Community Engagement is an extension of the Division Marketing and Corporate Affairs team working onsite at local hospitals to support promotion of the HCA Healthcare family of brands, as well as the division’s growth agenda. The position reports directly to the Facility Director/Manager Communications and Community Engagement with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the hospital CEO.

The facility specialist supports the execution of communications and community engagement plans for the hospital’s local market, and supports marketing efforts in alignment with division and corporate/group-developed objectives, strategies and tactics for marketing and corporate affairs. Keeping current in terms of community needs, issues and opportunities relevant to the organization, the specialist supports with collaboration and execution of community engagement activities and serves as part of the lead hospital communicator team.

What

you will do in this role Communications
  • Supports all communications, public relations and community engagement activities under the direction of the Facility Communications and Community Engagement Director/Manager.
  • Helps manage onsite crisis communication efforts as needed.
  • Provides outstanding and timely customer service. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with facility administration, directors, staff, and physicians.
  • Stays abreast of hospital news, trends, services, and objectives.
  • Contributes to development of materials needed in print, online, digital, video, blog and web.
Community Engagement
  • Help facilitate community and customer engagement to heighten our positive reputation within the community.
  • Supports coordination of events and programs in coordination with the Division and hospital goals and designed to raise awareness of the submarket’s capabilities and strengths.
  • Supports colleague community engagement including giving campaigns for community and our HCA Hope Fund, volunteering, board service in collaboration with Human Resources.
Marketing
  • Assists in providing facility insights to feed division/regional marketing plans, including access to service line leaders, subject matter experts and other key leaders.
  • Supports execution of local brand management activities.
  • Coordinates local marketing and brand strategies in partnership with Division team.
  • Partner with the Marketing Services Organization to develop content (includes web and social content) and manage hospital collateral items such as fliers, brochures, rack cards, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ year of experience
