The Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) is the strategic leader responsible for driving total hotel revenue through proactive sales leadership, innovative marketing strategy, and strong team development. This role oversees all Sales & Marketing functions, including Business Transient Sales, Catering & Event Sales, Conference Services, Group Housing oversight, digital marketing coordination, and community partnerships.
The DOSM provides hands‑on leadership to the Sales and Marketing Team, ensuring alignment in sales strategy, market positioning, client experience, and execution of events and group business. This role develops the hotel’s commercial strategy, manages key accounts, spearheads marketing initiatives, and ensures revenue optimization across all segments.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Leadership & Revenue Strategy
- Develop and implement annual Sales & Marketing plans and revenue strategies.
- Lead weekly revenue strategy meetings with Revenue Management.
- Oversee all RFP processes (Lanyon & Triple Seat).
- Review production and Agency
360 insights and adjust strategy. - Foster strong relationships with corporate and event clients.
- Supervise entire Sales and Marketing Team
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure consistency in proposals, contracts, and documentation.
- Marketing & Brand Management
- Lead property marketing initiatives.
- Oversee digital marketing and online listings.
- Approve promotional materials and campaigns.
- Manage influencer and media relations.
- Support the Sales and Marketing Team in developing catering and wedding segments.
- Oversee accurate BEO creation and event execution.
- Monitor group resumes, VIP coordination, and room blocks.
- Develop and manage annual budget.
- Track segment performance and ROI.
- Present monthly commercial performance updates.
- 5+ years of progressive hotel sales & marketing leadership.
- Strong understanding of business travel, catering, wedding, and social market segments.
- Experience in CRM systems, Lanyon, Cvent, Triple Seat, and StayNTouch.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
