Description:

This position involves caring for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
The unit specializes in advanced cardiac surgeries and post-operative care.
Intensivists are assigned to the unit 24/7.
There is a strong team of nurses with an emphasis on excellent teamwork.
The unit is equipped with Phillips bedside telemetry monitors and Hill-Rom beds.
Advanced procedures performed include central line insertion, Swan insertion, and intubations.
Nurses will have the opportunity to work with postoperative devices such as ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS.
A free-floating charge nurse will be available to assist staff.
Student Nurse Externs will also be present to assist nurses with technical duties.
The staffing also includes unit secretaries and administrative care technicians on weekdays during the day shift.
The patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:2, with 1:1 ratios for specific device patients.
The schedule requires working two weekends per month and participation in holiday rotations.
