Position: PRN Home Infusion Nurse

Naven Health is a nationwide home infusion nursing network focused on delivering specialized, exceptional infusion care.

Job Summary

An Infusion Nurse I is a licensed registered nurse who provides basic direct patient care to patients in the home or at alternate infusion sites. The role ensures patient safety and continuity under a physician’s plan of care while working under close direct supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate, develop, and implement basic nursing plans of care and treatments; evaluate patient progress toward goals.
  • Participate in direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications, and educate patients and families/caregivers.
  • Modify treatment plans in response to changes in patient status based on physician orders, and inform physicians promptly of significant changes.
  • Assess patient needs and physical status at each visit through health data access and interview; re‑evaluate needs during the visit.
  • Obtain and clarify physician orders for plan revisions, provide written summary within supplemental order.
  • Provide effective, patient‑centered teaching to achieve independence with prescribed therapy.
  • Communicate timely with the clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families to facilitate continuity of care.
  • Prepare clinical documentation in real time during visits and submit to nursing department within billing timelines.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and prepare discharge summaries when transferring care.
  • Comply with agency operations, policies, professional standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Maximize work efficiency using computers and automation technologies; monitor and follow assigned visit schedule.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests; initiate emergency procedures as needed.
  • Accept accountability for own practice through ethical conduct.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Attend required training modules, in‑services, and continuing education to maintain competency.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals; act as Supervisor in absence of Supervisor or Nurse Manager as permitted by state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and mentor other nurses.
  • Participate in nursing on‑call duties as applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Education & Experience
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
  • 0–2 years of infusion nursing experience required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Licensure to operate a motor vehicle and proof of liability insurance.
Basic Qualifications
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care standards for infusion services.
  • Advanced certification and training as applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications.
  • Ability to evaluate annual appraisal and set professional growth goals with nurse manager.
Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 50 pounds; maximum lifting 75 pounds.
  • Exert until 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Tasks include walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, turning, pivoting, balancing, stooping, reaching overhead, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying.
  • Fine motor skills and visual acuity for close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception.
  • Possibility of exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous substances, needles, sharps, chemicals, adverse weather; safety requirements include closed‑toe shoes, facemask, goggles, gown, gloves, and functional communication device.
Travel Requirements
  • Willing to travel 100% of the time for business purposes.
Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • 1 year of previous experience as an RN in a home health or acute care setting.
