Job Title: Adult Pulmonary Medicine Stepdown – Registered Nurse
Shift: Full‑time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am, 3 nights per week, 36hrs/week, includes some weekends)
Patient Population: Adult patients 18–100+ post‑lung transplant, pulmonary‑hypertension, post‑endoscopic lung volume reduction, interstitial lung disease exacerbations, lung transplant candidates, ECMO graduates.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate in establishing the plan of care and coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care to determine the nursing diagnosis.
- Continuously apply the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to achieve effective outcomes.
- Use strategies to promote health and maintain a safe, healthy environment.
- Perform patient education and assessment; communicate pertinent information to the health‑care team.
- Care Planning (Novice): Anticipate resource needs, prioritize and schedule tasks, manage multiple assignments, adapt to changes with minimal disruption.
- Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Provide patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Conduct primary patient interviews, physical examinations, gather clinical data for referrals and treatment pathways.
- Evidence‑Based Practice (Novice): Search for evidence to answer clinical questions under supervision.
- Registered Nurse licensure; licensure in an approved nursing discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
- Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
- Competency in nursing process and patient care in pulmonary/critical care settings.
