Enrollment Research Nurse

Overview

As an Enrollment Research Nurse at Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a subsidiary of McKesson, you will screen, enroll, and follow oncology research study subjects, ensuring protocol compliance and quality data collection.

• Screen and enroll patients onto clinical trials through recruitment, eligibility assessment, and consent procedures.
• Review study design and inclusion/exclusion criteria with physicians and patients.
• Complete and document screening/eligibility and consent accurately, ensuring all parties execute required signatures, HIPAA authorization, and waivers.
• Maintain enrollment and protocol documentation: inclusion/exclusion forms, standard enrollment forms, and specific tools such as oral medication forms, pill count diaries, quality‑of‑life questionnaires, neuro exams, vital signs sheets, and PK draw times.
• Screen new or returning patients, review scan results, and update patient tracking logs.
• Prepare study medication order forms, obtain physician or nurse practitioner sign‑off, and coordinate with the registrar for medication approval.
• Calculate BSA, creatinine clearance, urine protein:creatinine ratio, and other protocol‑specific conversions.
• Obtain signed waivers, re‑consent patients as needed, and document processes for investigator‑initiated protocols.

• Associate of Nursing degree;
  Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• Valid nursing license in the State of Tennessee.
• Knowledge of medical and oncology research terminology, federal regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• One year of clinical nursing experience.
• One year of clinical research experience preferred.
• One year of oncology patient care experience preferred.
