Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to laboring patients and newborns in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit. Ensure patient safety, support shared decision-making, and manage various obstetric procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring women and their newborns throughout delivery and postpartum stages.
  • Monitor and assess fetal and maternal vital signs, responding promptly to changes.
  • Administer medications, epidurals, and assist with procedures such as c-sections, D&Cs, and cerclage.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using CPN and Meditach systems; adhere to unit policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery RN experience.
  • Hold current licenses and certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in caring for laboring patients, newborns, and performing obstetric procedures.
  • Certified in CEFM or AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and call shifts.
