Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients on a 34-bed unit within a Level 1 trauma and stroke center. Deliver high-quality patient interventions while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform procedures according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient status and document findings accurately in Meditech system.
- Collaborate with unit secretaries and PCTs to coordinate patient care and support workflows.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including dress code and unit policies.
- Float to other departments as needed to support staffing requirements.
- Educate patients and families about care plans and ongoing health needs.
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of medical-surgical experience.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Proficient in Meditech documentation system.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and competency in procedures performed on unit.
- Ability to work 3 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
