  Observation Unit
• Shift Timings: 18:30 - 07:00 Hours Monday to Friday (3 Days, 12 Hours)
• Per Week: 36 hours
• Unit Capacity: 36 Beds
• Population Served:
  Cardiac and Neuro Stepdown;
  Cardiac bedside monitoring, Cardiac drips, TR bands, Post heart caths, Stroke/Neuro patients, BIPAP overflows
• Ages of Patients Served:
  Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Core Staffing Plan:
  Variable staffing grid to include Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.

• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
