Women's Resource Nurse

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, identifying nursing problems, planning individualized patient care, participating in performance improvement activities, and serving as a role model and clinical resource while floating to Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB, and OB/GYN ER.

• You will utilize the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to individualize holistic care for perinatal, postnatal and GYN patients and their families.
• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages served.
• You will provide care demonstrating knowledge of pregnancy, labor and birth with associated complications.
• You will provide care demonstrating knowledge of GYN complications.
• You will deliver care respecting individual spiritual and cultural needs.
• You will demonstrate competency in peri-operative care.
• You will demonstrate competency with PACU recovery for perinatal patients.
• You will integrate various methods of patient care documentation.
• You will provide patient education and document understanding.
• You will demonstrate competency in fetal monitoring.

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current TN RN licensure.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS & PALS certification or within 6 months of hire.
• Current NRP certifications or within 6 months of hire.
• Current AWHONN fetal monitoring certification or within 1 year of hire or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM) after eligibility.
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Must have experience in at least 2 of the following areas: L&D, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB/GYN, or ER.
